Digital media consists of any kind of information that is that is transmitted using digital data that at its simplest is a collection of binary signals (zeroes and ones) transmitted via digital cables or satellites and received by devices that convert them to audio video, video, graphics text and many more. It covers everything from streaming movies and television programs on services such as Netflix to virtual reality surgical simulators used in medical facilities. It also includes sites like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram that allow users to interact with others by posting pictures, videos and messages.
Samantha Kutza, a student at ESU who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree digital media technology, is excited about the possibilities of her future career. She says the program has provided her with a education that is broad and an immersive experience for applying the latest technology in creative media.
